Alan Yang's Perfect Day
In the OG Giant Robot Magazine we had a recurring segment called "Perfect Day" in which we would feature people's perfect day. We're bringing that back and Alan Yang, producer and writer of Master of None, is going to kick us off. This is Alan Yang's Perfect Day.

"This is going to be so obnoxious, like the most obnoxious answer ever."
1. Wake up in Mt. Anboto, Spain
I'll start off in Spain and I'll go to this restaurant called Etxebarri and I'll eat a little bit of the prawns and a little bit of the beef there. And because it's my perfect day, I get to teleport.
Extebarri is a Spanish restaurant located in the Basque country deep in the valley and far from civilization. The restaurant uses traditional Basque cooking methods, most well known for grilling their food with select woods. The chef, Victor Arguinzoniz, grills all the food himself. Extebarri was voted No. 6 in San Pelligrino's The World's Best 50 Restaurants (2017).
2. Teleport to Tokyo. Sushi time.
I'll teleport to Tokyo and eat some sushi at Sushi Sawada.
Sushi Sawada is located in the Ginza district of Tokyo. With only 7 seats in the restaurant, it's one of the most difficult places to get a reservation in Tokyo. If you love instagramming, we may have bad news for you: no photos allowed (the photos you see above were from food critics that received special permission).
3. Visit Family and Friends in LA
Then I'll teleport to LA and see my family, see my sister who just had a kid; she has two kids now.
4. Back in NYC
Then I'll come back to New York and finish it off with a drink at the Spotted Pig with some of my friends in New York.
The Spotted Pig is the brainchild of April Bloomfield, the British chef who's winning the hearts and tastebuds of New Yorkers with her Michelin awarded Breslin Bar and Dining Room at the Ace Hotel and The Spotted Pig. The Spotted Pig does not take reservations and wait times can get as long as 3 hours. It's next to the High Line, so you can take a nice stroll while waiting.
"That sounds like a pretty good day."
GR: You got to get that Iberico ham in spain. It’s miracle ham.
Alan: Oh yeah. Oh, we got to. You'll see some of that in season two of Master of None. Not joking. You'll see a miracle ham in season two.
